LUSH Holiday 2013 – Treat Yo Self!

Lush-Holiday-2013

It’s no secret that Lush makes the best bath bombs around, but what you guys didn’t know is that I’ve never actually bought any for myself! In the spirit of relaxation and being in dire need for a long overdue “pamper-sesh,” I made the trek out to my local Lush shop to see what they had in store.

Okay, maybe I went a little overboard at Lush, but how could I resist? If you’ve ever walked by one of the stores, you’ll know how hard it is not to go in and smell all of the soaps and bath bombs – all of the products are just so incredibly aromatic! When you walk into the store and you see the towering blocks of soap and the bath bomb display, it’s really easy to get overwhelmed and not know where to begin. Personally, I really enjoy watching the bath ballistic demonstrations and wandering wherever my nose seems to take me.

First Up: Cinders Bath Bomb

Lush’s description on the UK site:

“Almond oil, sweet orange and cinnamon leaf essential oils give a festive, fruity scent with a touch of spice to lift the spirits and linger on the skin. We’ve also put popping candy into the mix, which will gently crackle like the sound of a warming fireside. Take Cinders into the bath if you want to hide away from the big bad world and feel the comforts of home. Also great if you want to clear out the cobwebs from your mind, or the dust and soot from your body.”

That description is pretty spot on, if you ask me! This bath bomb has been making its rounds in the beauty community for a while, and it’s about time that I gave this festive little treat a try.

Up Next: Golden Wonder

Lush’s description on the US site:

“Golden Wonder is back again this year and we can’t wait to hop in the tub with this fizzy golden gift! It simply wouldn’t be a LUSH Christmas without soaking in its soft citrus fragrance; a gorgeous, uplifting blend of sweet orange, lime and cognac oils. Drop this best-seller in your bath and watch it put on a colorful show as the vibrant gifts inside reveal themselves and leave you with soft, champagne-scented skin.”

Continuing with the holiday theme, Golden Wonder was a no brainer. I mean, who wouldn’t want a little gold, glittery gift during bath time? This bath bomb would be such a nice little treat for a bath enthusiast such as myself, especially around the holidays.

Up Next: Dragon’s Egg Bath Bomb

Lush’s description from the US site:

“Unleash fire and bathe in a whirlpool of magnificently vibrant, sizzling color and a spectacular explosion of sights, sounds, and scents. Inhale the refreshing sherbet-y citrus scent of lemon and bergamot; you’ll feel like you’re up and away on the back of your own dragon. This mystical Bath Bomb fizzles, crackles, curls, and ends with a glitter explosion. Citrus oils are known for their invigorating effect on the mind, and Dragon’s Egg is no exception! Drop one of these into the bath for a serious wake-up call on groggy mornings, or before an evening out.”

I’m such a sucker for things like this! I feel like I’m going to end up using this bath bomb when I’ve had a really tough day and I need to feel like a magnificent goddess. Surely bathing in a crackling pool of sizzling colors would raise my spirits!

Up Next: Avobath Bath Bomb

Lush’s description from the US site:

“Our bold green Avobath Bath Bomb is not for lazy days lying back in the tub. On the contrary, it’s for gray days and mornings (afternoons and evenings too), when you just can’t shake your brain fog. Pop one into your bath for an instant jolt of invigorating, lemongrass-scented energy and fizz. Splash about in the shimmery green waters and let the fresh avocados and olive oil soften you up and leave you with softer, supple skin, as well as a brighter outlook. Next time you need a zesty refresher; all you need to do is Avobath.”

This bath bomb smells so amazing. Out of all of the bath bombs I sniffed, this one was just so striking and zingy that I knew It would be the one for me! I’m a huge fan of lemongrass, so basically anything that smells as energizing as this is a massive winner in my book. Looking forward to using this on a rainy afternoon!

Up Next: Pink Bath Bomb

Lush’s description from the US site:

“Inspired by the delightful Audrey Hepburn, Pink is sophisticated, sexy, elegant, and witty. Fragranced with edgy tonka bean, neroli, and the sweetness of vanilla absolute, it turns baths into candy-scented fantasies with a fragrance that lingers on your skin long after you’re out of the bath. It’s sweet, but not overbearingly so, with a subtle bite of something cheeky. Spoil yourself; instead of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, have an indulgent bath with Pink.”

I don’t know about you, but every time I go into a Lush store, I always pick up this little guy and give it a sniff. There’s something about the delightful bright pink color and the cluster of little flowers that just makes smelling this bath bomb so satisfying and calming! I think it’s just a really sweet bath bomb that you could give just about anyone and they wouldn’t complain.

Up Next: Rose Jam Bubbleroon

Lush’s description from the US site:

“The Bubbleroon is our newest style of Bubble Bar inspired by delicious, handmade macaroons. Rose Jam is based on a decadent traditional Turkish recipe for rose jam that our Turkish rose absolute supplier shares with us every year, and is made with our sophisticated new rose perfume. Rose oil and rose absolute not only smell amazing but they are also fantastic for soothing dry, sensitive skin. The rosy fragrance paired with the coconut oil “icing” that sticks the two halves of this Bubbleroon together make for a majorly moisturizing, softening and luxurious soak.”

As I was making my way around the store, my basket already filled with bath bombs, one of the ladies at Lush recommended Rose Jam to me and told me it was her favorite bubble bar, and I can totally see why. It smells so lovely and it has a super creamy texture compared to the other bubble bars. Normally I’m not too keen on rose-scented stuff, but I think Rose Jam has balanced the rose perfume with a really nice sweetness.

LUSH But Not Least: Bubblegum Lip Scrub

Lush’s description from the US Site:

“Our sweetest confection exfoliates lips smooth, prepping them for your favorite lip color or balm. A blend of exfoliating Fair Trade sugar and moisturizing jojoba oil, this lip scrub is sure to leave your lips enticingly soft and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time! Scrub Bubblegum over your lips (be sure to lick off the excess) and then apply your favorite lip color for a flawless finish.”

My lips have fallen victim to Winter dryness, so my decision to finally get a lip scrub couldn’t have come at a more opportune time! This lip scrub is so finely milled and it’s really excellent at exfoliating without being too harsh. I’ve made a lip scrub at home before, but this one from Lush is a million times better! Plus: it tastes exactly like bubblegum. C’mon, how great is that?!

If you haven’t already, I highly recommend checking out all of Lush’s super cute & fun holiday stuff!

Until next time…
Cheers!
