The Art of Bathing is an absolute MUST! If you love bath time as much as I do, add this gift box from LUSH to your shopping list right this second. It isn’t cheap, but it sure is luxurious. Go ahead and treat yourself!
You’ve probably heard a lot about the Tarte Airbrush Foundation, right? This “moisture-rich” powder foundation has been making its rounds in the beauty community for quite a while, and as per usual, I just had to try it out for myself.
Probably one of the most talked-about features of this product is the unique packaging. Rather press the product into a compact, or use a plastic grate over the top, Tarte tried something a little new. The Tarte Airbrush Foundation has a “mesh shifter” which is basically a little mesh screen that sits on top of the powder. With the help of a built-in plastic stopper on the inside of the lid, it keeps the product exactly where you want it to be. This unique design would prove especially useful if you find yourself applying makeup on-the-go. On the whole, I give a big thumbs up for the clever packaging!
Straight from the packaging:
Amazonian clay full coverage airbrush foundation offers weightless coverage that lasts, while the skintuitive-formula delivers a flawless, natural finish without settling into fine lines and wrinkles.

How to Use
To use: Gently push the airbuki bamboo powder foundation brush into the mesh sifter — no shaking necessary!
Tap away the excess and then buff the moisture-rich powder onto skin in circular motions until desired coverage is achieved.
Now, when I bought the Tarte Airbrush Foundation, I decided to pass on the matching airbuki bamboo powder foundation brush (it runs for $26 at Ulta) in favor of my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. My first application of the product wasn’t as great as I had hoped – it felt pretty patchy and the so-called “full” coverage left something to be desired. I don’t know if I’m just really terrible at applying powder foundation, or if this one just wasn’t my cup of tea. I decided to give it another shot.
Practice Makes Perfect
I’ve been using the Tarte Airbrush Foundation for a few weeks now, and I’ve found out the best way for me to wear it is with a layer of primer (Urban Decay’s Brightening & Tightening Complexion Primer Potion is my fave!) underneath. At first, I was pretty skeptical that this foundation would be one of those no-fuss products, but I’ve really grown to like it. I definitely think it takes a little getting used to, especially if you’re unfamiliar with powder foundations.
How it Wears
About halfway through the day while wearing liquid foundation, I feel like my face looks just as heavy as it feels. It seems like no matter how much primer or setting spray I use, my foundation usually finds a way to sneak into my laugh lines.
The big thing I really love about the Tarte Airbrush Foundation is how well it wears throughout the day! The formula is really lightweight, so from the moment it hits your face it doesn’t even feel like you’re wearing foundation at all. Best of all, I have yet to see this foundation settle into any lines or look heavy on the skin.
One thing worth mentioning is that this powder foundation is “moisture rich”. I have noticed that my face looks significantly more luminous/dewy after eight hours of wear, although my skin has yet to feel oily or greasy. If you aren’t a huge fan of the dewy look, I would recommend keeping some blotting paper with you incase you get a little too shiny.
Tarte Airbrush Foundation: Worth the Hype?
For me, I would say so! Even though I had a bit of a rocky start with this powder foundation, I can tell I’m going to be grabbing for this darling all Spring. The finish with this foundation is sort of like a soft matte, and I find that it leaves my skin feeling touchably soft.
I kind of bought this foundation because I was looking to try something new. Since I hadn’t used any new beauty products in such a long time, I’m very pleased to have picked this one. I think it’s good to try something new every now and then. And let’s get real: the fact that Tarte is cruelty-free doesn’t hurt, either!
If you’re in the market for a new powder foundation, I would highly recommend the Tarte Airbrush Foundation. It’s definitely worth the hype. Let me know in the comments if you’re Team Powder Foundation or Team Liquid Foundation, and I’ll see you next week with a post on The Art of Bathing! Until next time…
The quest to find Holy Grail beauty products is paved with trial and error, but sometimes it introduces you to amazing products! I’ve been feeling very comfortable with my makeup collection lately, and I figure that’s enough of an excuse to share a couple of my most used cruelty-free beauty products as of late.
For those of you living under a rock, my blog recently underwent a total blog redesign! After about a week of putting my site on hiatus, I spent a good amount of time tinkering and toying with the CSS until everything was exactly the way I envisioned. I’m pretty jazzed about this new blog design, if you couldn’t tell, and I’ve also queued up some great posts for the launch. I feel like this blog redesign is a great way to get psyched for Spring, and what better way to do that than with pops of coral all over the place?
I wasn’t expecting to write a blog post on “Blazers for the Busty” and yet here we are. Normally when I think of wearing blazers I can’t help but feel a little uncomfortable. Perhaps it’s because I’m a little more on the busty side and I’ve never had much luck when it comes to finding blazers that want to cooperate with my bosom. For the busty ladies out there who dread wearing blazers: fear not, for I have found a stylish solution!
Adventures in Cruelty-Free Nail Polish
A couple of days ago, I really felt like giving myself a manicure. Since the majority of my nail polishes are all tucked away in storage and I simply couldn’t be bothered to rummage around for them, I was determined to find some cruelty-free nail polish at the drugstore. Wet ‘n Wild was the obvious choice (and the most affordable, to be honest), and I’ll admit that I was super skeptical about the quality of the nail polish.
It’s no secret that Lush makes the best bath bombs around, but what you guys didn’t know is that I’ve never actually bought any for myself! In the spirit of relaxation and being in dire need for a long overdue “pamper-sesh,” I made the trek out to my local Lush shop to see what they had in store.
What’s up with the Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick?
The beauty community is buzzing over the Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks, so naturally… I had to get my hands on one of my own! Having a birthday is the perfect excuse to splurge on a high-end lipstick, right? Well, let’s just call that my excuse, then. After having seen so many blog posts and video reviews on UD’s new lipsticks, I had already had a few shades in mind before I ended up with this shade in particular…
