Christmas decorations don’t need to be pricey! Learn how to make a cute little Santa Claus Christmas decoration.

I’m not much of a DIY expert, especially when it comes to making Christmas decorations, but when I saw that today’s #InternetAdvent assignment was to create a decoration and give it to someone as a gift I totally drew blanks. I don’t have much craft-related stuff in my apartment, so I scoured the internet to see what I could find by way of tutorials.

Lo and behold, Krokotak’s Toilet Paper Roll Santa tutorial really caught my eye because it looked pretty easy and I already had the materials! Now, the most difficult part about making this Christmas decoration had to be photographing the process. If I didn’t have to snap pictures along the way, I most likely would have finished the whole thing in five minutes or less. Now, with that being said, I’m not going to bother trying to explain how I did it (Krokotak does a better job and goes more in-depth than I will here!) because it seemed pretty simple and self explanatory.

There are tons of toilet paper decoration DIYs out there, so if you’re on a really tight budget and want to get hands-on this holiday season, I highly recommend checking out this list of 20 Toilet Paper Roll Crafts and seeing what you can come up with! If I had some glitter, I would have probably gone in a totally different direction.

With that being said, here is my attempt at a Toilet Paper Roll Santa through pictures! Enjoy!

DIY Christmas Decoration

1. Cut the red paper to fit the length of the toilet paper roll

Cut paper to fit the length of the toilet paper roll

Cover the back side of the red paper with glue

Roll the red paper around the outside

4. Add extra glue to the end to seal it in tight

Flatten

Push in the ends

Repeat on opposite side in the opposite direction

Repeat in opposite direction

This is how it should look

Flatten top ends

Cut the corner of a piece of paper

Glue to the toilet paper roll

Draw Santa’s face

And there you have it! Your toilet paper roll Santa is complete! I’ve gotta give a huge thanks to Krokotak for the awesome tutorial! I’m gonna bring this little dude with me to work next week.
